Ex situ preparation Mechanical polishing down to 0.05 microns. Mounted with thermocouple onto a stainless steel sample holder.
In situ preparation Sputter cleaned with Ar ion beam to remove C and O. Annealed in vacuum to 700 C. Heated to 200 C in 0.1 mbar O2 for 8 hours. Increased temperature to 300 C.
Additional Information These spectra were measured after the sample had been transformed to CuO. The data set represents an average of spectra measured over 1.5 hours.
